Data management

Amsterdam Diamonds is responsible for the processing of the personal data of its customers and commits to respect the law of 8 December 1992 regarding the protection of personal data and the processing of personal data and all other regulations regarding this subject.

Data protection is a very high priority for Amsterdam Diamonds. All data collected by Amsterdam Diamonds will be stored strictly confidentially and will not be lent, hired out or sold or be published in any other manner, unless with permission from the customer. The information given to Amsterdam Diamonds by the customer will be treated with the utmost care.

Only the Amsterdam Diamonds staff and its logistic partners will use the personal data of the customers and for the sole purpose of providing the ordered products and services and for invoicing.

Management of customer accounts, of any return shipments, of sending publicity emails regarding current and future sales.

In the interest of its own justified commercial interests regarding individual customer service (provided the customer agrees).

For subscribing to/unsubscribing from the newsletter.

For customer participation in competitions. For statistical analyses on the use of the Amsterdam Diamonds website by customers in order to improve navigation and user experience.

And finally, in view of system security.

To this end, the following data may be stored:

Customer data (surname, name, invoice address, delivery address (if different form invoice address), email address, telephone number, date of birth),

IP address of the requesting computer,

Products saved by a customer in their wish list,

Approval of a customer to receive the newsletter.

The bank details in connection with payment of the orders are exclusively collected and processed by our service provider. Amsterdam Diamonds itself does not have access to your bank account number or card number. However, these data can be requested by Amsterdam Diamonds in the event of a refund.

Amsterdam Diamonds makes use of the necessary security technology to prevent the loss, theft or any other impairment of data.


Right to access, modify and delete

Pursuant the law of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy regarding personal data, the customer has the right, at all times, to access their personal data, to modify them and to have them deleted if the customer no longer wishes to receive information regarding our activities.

To exercise these rights, the customer can write to Amsterdam Diamonds, clearly stating the data that the customer wishes to access, modify or have deleted.

Any customer can always object to the use of their personal data for marketing purposes. Objecting is free and does not require indication of reasons. The customer can object by using the link at the bottom of the invitational emails sent by Amsterdam Diamonds.

Amsterdam Diamonds wishes to customise the website for its customers as much as possible and is continuously searching for ways to improve in order to provide the customer the ultimate shopping experience.

To this end, Amsterdam Diamonds makes partial use of so-called cookies on its website. Cookies are small text files created by a web server which are stored on the customer’s computer during the online visit via the used web browser. Cookies cannot be used to identify a person, only machines. Any visitor can configure their computer to not accept any cookies.
